Privacy Policy

Bodyess

Effective Date: October 10, 2026

We have created the Bodyess application (the "Application") as a commercial service. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, processed, and protected when you use the Application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

When you create and use an account, we may collect:

  • Name or nickname
  • Email address
  • Gender (optional)
  • Date of birth or age (optional)
  • Nutrition goals (weight loss, muscle gain, weight maintenance)
  • Body parameters (height, weight and related metrics)

Purpose: creation and management of an account, personalization of recommendations, calorie calculation, and nutrition analytics.

The user confirms that their data is reliable, accurate, up to date, and complete. Personal data must be updated regularly.

1.2 Nutrition Data

The Application processes information that you voluntarily provide or upload, including:

  • Food diary entries
  • Products and meals
  • Calorie and macronutrient data
  • Food photographs

Purpose: nutrition analysis, food recognition, calorie calculation, and generation of personalized recommendations.

1.3 Health and Physical Activity Data

With your explicit permission, the Application may access health and physical activity data from your device (for example, Apple Health), including:

  • Steps
  • Active calories
  • Distance
  • Motion and physical activity data

Purpose: calculation of energy balance, activity tracking, and progress analysis.

The Application is not a medical device and is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of any diseases.

1.4 Photographs and Media Files

The Application may request access to:

  • Camera — for taking photographs of food
  • Photo library — for selecting existing images
  • Saving photographs to the library (optional)

Food photographs are used for food recognition and improving the user experience. If you voluntarily select a profile avatar, a normalized avatar preview is also used to identify you to people you invite or approve. Profile avatars are not used for food recognition.

Purpose: increasing the efficiency of the user's interaction with the Application.

1.5 Technical and Usage Data

We may automatically collect a limited amount of technical data, including:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • Data on interaction within the Application
  • Anonymous crash and performance logs

Such data is collected in anonymized or aggregated form where possible.

Purpose: ensuring the stability of the Application, improving functionality, and maintaining service quality.

1.6 Friends and Profile Sharing

If you choose to use the Friends feature, we process:

  • The name shown to friends and in friend notifications: the name saved in your profile, or the account name if that field is empty, together with your profile avatar
  • Invitation, friendship, favorite, removal, and block records
  • The sharing categories stored for your account. Categories already stored stay as they are. This policy does not switch them on
  • Daily progress, meaning the rounded share of the calorie goal and the number of logged meals. Selected goals, meaning the goal type and the daily targets for calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrate. Food-diary entries, meaning dish and food names, meal time, and nutrition figures, without food photographs. On a sharing record created by the current Friends version, daily progress, selected goals, and the food diary start on, and the diary includes its earlier history. Target weight starts off. The achievements switch starts off and does not currently show achievement content to a friend. Before confirming a friend, review Friends privacy settings, because that person sees every category that is on. If full diary history is off, a meal is shown only when its time is at or after the moment the friendship was confirmed, in the profile time zone. Meals earlier on that same calendar day stay hidden. If that moment is missing, earlier diary days are not shown
  • Praise, and a reminder to log meals. A confirmed friend can send each of these once during that friend's own calendar day, so both can arrive on the same day. Sending does not require your diary to be shared. We may send the recipient a push notification. Its text uses the sender's name, shortened to 40 characters, or a generic word such as a friend when no name is available. The notification can appear on a lock screen. It is passed to our push service and then to Apple or Google. Delivery is not guaranteed, and a failed attempt is not repeated that same day. Removing the friend or blocking the user stops later reactions

There is no public directory of profiles. Anyone who opens an invitation link can see the sender's display name and avatar before confirming. The link alone does not open the diary, goals, or progress. The friendship begins when the recipient confirms, and from then that person sees the categories that are switched on. Food photographs are not shared through Friends.

Purpose: showing progress and nutrition information to a person after that person confirms a friendship with you, and only for categories that are switched on. Review those settings before you confirm. You can switch a category off in the Application at any time. Switching it off stops later retrieval through Bodyess, but cannot delete a copy or screenshot the other person already made.

1.7 Legal Bases for Processing

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — processing is necessary for providing you with the functionality of the Application (account creation, maintaining a food diary, calorie calculation). This includes: name/nickname, email address, nutrition goals, body parameters, nutrition data.
  • Consent — processing is carried out only after obtaining your explicit consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time in your device or Application settings. This includes: health and physical activity data (Apple Health and similar services), access to the camera and photo library, food photographs, as well as any data processing using artificial intelligence for image recognition and recommendation generation.
  • Use of Friends — we process the information in this section when you use Friends, when you create or confirm an invitation, and when a sharing category stays on. Confirmation lets the other person see the categories that are on. Categories that start on do not each have a separate opt-in, so this is not a separate consent for those categories. You can switch any category off in Friends privacy settings without deleting your account. Where the law requires a separate consent before this kind of information is shown to another person, switch the category off until you decide to turn it on.
  • Legitimate interests — processing is necessary to ensure the stable operation, security, and improvement of the Application. This includes: technical data, usage data, crash logs, and performance analytics. We use such data only to the extent that it does not violate your rights and freedoms.

2. Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Application uses artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to analyze nutrition data, recognize food in images, generate personalized recommendations, and track progress.

Trusted third-party service providers, including OpenAI (ChatGPT) and DeepSeek, may participate in AI-based data processing solely as data processors for the purpose of ensuring the functionality of the Application in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We do not use personal data for advertising purposes.

Results obtained using AI (food recognition, recommendations) are of a recommendatory nature and do not constitute a guarantee of accuracy. The user is responsible for verifying the entered data.

3. Application Permissions

The Application may request access to:

  • Camera
  • Photo library
  • Health data (steps, calories, distance)
  • Motion and physical activity data
  • Notifications
  • Background data updates

You may manage permissions in your device settings. Disabling permissions may result in limited functionality.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We may transfer a limited amount of data to third-party service providers only where necessary for:

  • AI-based image processing
  • AI-based nutrition analysis
  • Operation and maintenance of the Application
  • Performance analysis and improvement of reliability

We do not sell personal data and do not transfer it to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

A confirmed friend sees the categories that are switched on. Review Friends privacy settings before you confirm. That person chooses what to do with information already shown. Removing a friend, blocking a user, or switching a category off stops later access through Bodyess and does not undo a screenshot or another copy kept outside the Application. Praise and a meal-log reminder can still be sent while those categories are off, until the friendship is removed or a block applies.

Data processing using AI may be carried out on servers located outside your country of residence. When transferring data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure the use of standard mechanisms that guarantee an adequate level of data protection.

Users may also synchronize their Application with the Apple Health service — a mobile solution provided by Apple Inc. (One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA). During such synchronization, the following types of information may be transferred to the Application:

  • body weight, waist circumference
  • workouts (start and end time, duration, type, calories burned)
  • systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood glucose levels
  • menstrual cycle data
  • body mass index (BMI)
  • number of steps (including distance and step count)
  • general physical activity

In addition, the Application is capable of transmitting the following data to Apple Health:

  • overall activity
  • nutritional values (caloric value of food, macronutrients, micronutrients, and vitamins)
  • physical parameters (weight, waist circumference, blood sugar levels, systolic and diastolic pressure, glucose levels, BMI)

If the user has provided consent, the Application may access the Apple Health database at any time. Apple Health itself collects health-related information of device users and displays it within the application. Additional information on data protection is available at: https://www.apple.com/privacy/

Users may also synchronize their Application with Google Health Connect — a health data aggregation platform developed by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; hereinafter "Google"), which allows the Application to combine health and physical activity data from different sources. By connecting the Application to Health Connect, the user obtains access to the following categories of information, as well as the ability to transfer them:

  • general health information
  • nutrition data
  • cardiovascular and key physiological indicators
  • body measurements
  • physical activity data

Such integration expands the functionality of the Application: the user obtains a more comprehensive view of their health and receives personalized recommendations based on aggregated data.

Detailed information on data protection is available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the services of the Application.

Expired and revoked invitation and preview records are removed according to our operational retention schedule. Active connection, block, sharing-setting, and avatar records are retained while needed to provide the feature. Limited security records may be retained for a documented period to prevent abuse and investigate incidents; they do not contain food diary content.

Users may delete their account in the Application settings.

Upon receipt of a request to delete an account, all data associated with it is subject to permanent deletion and will be removed from our systems no later than 24 hours after deletion is initiated within the Application. Final deletion is carried out in accordance with applicable law and may depend on technical processing cycles and limitations.

Users may also request assistance or initiate data deletion by contacting us at help@bodyess.pro. In such cases, deletion of the account and all associated data will occur no later than 72 hours.

6. Children's Privacy

The Application is not intended for individuals under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 years of age. If we become aware that a child under 14 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, we do not collect data from individuals under 16 without parental consent.

Friends is available only when the profile stores a date of birth and that date shows an age of at least 18. We rely on the date of birth saved in the profile. If it is missing, Friends is not available. Other parts of the Application may be available at a younger age, including with parental consent where that applies.

Parents who believe that their child has provided us with personal data and wish for it to be deleted should contact us at help@bodyess.pro.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or data storage is completely secure.

8. User Settings and Consent

By confirming registration or continuing to use the Application, you acknowledge that you have read the terms of this Privacy Policy. You may withdraw permissions at any time in your device settings.

Friends sharing is controlled in the Application. A sharing record created by the current Friends version starts with daily progress, selected goals, and the food diary on, including earlier diary history. Target weight starts off. Achievements start off and do not currently show achievement content. A record already stored keeps its saved choices, and this policy does not switch those choices on. You can switch any category off. If full diary history is off, a meal is visible only from the moment the friendship was confirmed, in the profile time zone, and earlier meals that same day stay hidden. Removing a friend, blocking a user, or switching a category off applies to later requests and does not recall information already shown.

9. Use of Web Analytics, Remarketing, and Retargeting Tools

9.1 Sentry

Data collection within the use of Sentry is carried out anonymously, and the information obtained is not used for personal purposes. Sentry is a tool provided by Functional Software Inc. (45 Fremont St, San Francisco, California, 94105, USA), used in the Application for error tracking. It is intended to monitor system stability and enables effective detection of errors in the program code. More detailed information is available at: https://sentry.io/privacy/

9.2 Google Analytics / Google Optimize (Firebase)

To analyze the use of the Application, the services Google Analytics and Google Optimize are used, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. ("Google", Google Building, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Optimize, integrated into Google Analytics, enables targeted adjustments and improvements of individual elements based on user behavior.

Firebase provides developers with technical infrastructure and tools, including Google Analytics for Firebase. This allows tracking and analysis of user actions to improve the Application.

Google services use cookies, and data may be transferred to servers in the United States. Google may process data on behalf of the provider and transfer it to third parties where required by law.
